Rooibos Films required a visual identity that felt clean, confident, and immediately recognisable – leaning toward a more corporate sensibility while still retaining a strong sense of cultural character. The challenge was to create a mark that could operate seamlessly across both professional production contexts and more informal brand touchpoints. Our approach centered on synthesising two core ideas: the language of film and the culture of rooibos tea, a celebrated South African staple. The resulting concept merges these elements into a single, distinctive gesture – a coiling film reel rising from a painted orange mug, echoing the movement of steam from freshly brewed tea. This visual metaphor establishes a brand that is both grounded and expressive: rooted in place, yet dynamic in execution. Supporting this is a restrained colour palette of burnt orange, off-white, and charcoal, reinforcing clarity, warmth, and versatility. The final identity is designed to scale – from crew apparel to on-screen production idents – ensuring Rooibos Films presents a cohesive, memorable presence across every touchpoint.
