Strategy
The map was conceived as an invitation to engage more deeply with the city’s design culture. Developed in partnership with Cape Town Furniture Week and Oggie, it connects a network of furniture ateliers, studios, and showrooms into a single, considered experience. In contrast to passive digital wayfinding, the focus was on creating a tactile object that encourages exploration. Clear structure and subtle visual cues guide movement, while the physical format invites users to slow down, wander, and discover the spaces shaping Cape Town’s design landscape.
Deliverables
A printed map designed as both guide and artefact. The layout integrates location indexing, imagery, and editorial content into a clear, navigable structure, with colour and pattern defining distinct areas across the city. An intuitive fold format supports use from in-store browsing to on-the-go exploration, while a bold, contemporary cover gives the piece presence as something to pick up and keep.
